Module Choices
– Students will finish 2 modules
Aerospace
(Space/Rocketry): Learn about astronauts, planets, gravity, and the sun and moon.
Build a rocket to test outdoors.
Aviation: Fly with Microsoft Flight Simulator software
using realistic equipment, and use Paper Airplane Creator.
Computer-Aided Drafting: Use Auto-Cad Light software,
creating architectural-type designs on the computer.
Computer
Animation: Pull text, images, and sounds into Animation
Works to create digital animated cartoons.
Computer Numerical-Control
Mill: Enter program to control Mill on three axis to cut stock. Many designs are done including initials and creative project.
Graphic Communication: After studying ad layout and design, CorelDraw is used to create ads and posters. A t-shirt design is also created, flipped, and ironed onto a t-shirt.
Motorized Machines: Lego kits including gears and pulleys are used to build items with moveable parts
and motorized objects.
Pneumatics: An individual activity that includes conducting many experiments using air for power.
Research and Design: Research the manufacturing of automobiles and create a CO2 car to race the last week of class.
Robotics: Program the robot with point to point position format to accomplish tasks, simple
to complex.
Structural Engineering: Learn about the aspects of engineering and what makes things structurally sound. Build a balsa-wood bridge to test.
